Understanding and Interpreting the Boeing 787 Structural Repair Manual (SRM), Inspection, Damage Recognition and Assessment

Upon successful completion of this training, participant is able to:

• Identify specific B787 airplane parts, locations and processes;
  
  
• Find allowable damage limits within the B787 SRM;
  
  
• Types of damage that can be repaired using the B787 SRM;
  
  
• Identify the composite ply materials, sequences and orientations for various B787 structures;
  
  
• Design repairs for specific damage within the limits of the B787 SRM;
  
  
• Carry out a correct damage assessment and report this in a clear, accurate and in the required manner by the OEM (Boeing);
  
  
• Indicate an exact damage location to the B787 Aircraft;
  
  
• Be able to divide multiple damage, for example, a lightning strike involving multiple composite layers;
  
  
• Make an accurate damage report;
  
  
• Proper handle the paperwork;
  
  
• Find allowable damage limits in the B787 SRM;
  
  
• Identify composite ply materials, sequences and orientations for various composite structures;
  
  
• Determine if damage on metallic structure is repairable by the SRM;
  
  
• Determine if composite damage is repairable by the SRM;
  
  
• Identify the metal skin and composite repair processes.
