SAE AIR4938: Composite and Bonded Structure Technician/Specialist, Part 4 Metal to Metal Bonding

The bonding of components, alongside the installation of mechanical fasteners, is a critical process in the manufacturing of aluminum aircraft structures. Proper surface preparation of the adherent materials is the single most important factor in achieving successful and durable metal bonding.

As part of the metal to metal bond training, this course offers hands-on experience to help you master the fundamentals of metal bonding, including the most common practices, materials, and techniques used in metal-to-metal and metal-to-composite bonding operations.

This hybrid training program combines theoretical knowledge with practical applications, focusing on the essential materials, processes, and techniques for the preparation and repair of bonded metal structures.

Hands-on Projects Include:

            •          Utilizing PASA, PANTA, PACS, and BoeGel processes for skin and core replacement.

            •          Implementing various metal treatment techniques essential for bonding operations.

            •          Extensive training on advanced Hot Bonding Equipment to perform repairs using industry-standard tools and technologies.

By combining theory with practical skills, this course ensures that participants are well-prepared to handle the challenges of bonded aluminum structure preparation and repair in modern aerospace manufacturing and maintenance.

This course includes
